Candlelight After Work

Windy night,
Lights passing by,
Head turned left then right,
Searching for a place to settle down.

Approaching old doors,
Warmth awaits,
Corner table,
One candle company.

Wooden surfaces,
One tunes on the radio,
Green walls,
Inviting favourites for a spin.

You walk in,
Your eyes meet mine,
Two souls connect,
A shared smile.

My heart says, “Hello,”
It is nice to be seen,
To let go,
To receive your love.

Your presence surrounds me,
Like a familiar blanket,
Two kindred spirits,
Becoming one.
